SSR rescued neglected Blue from death row. He is ready to begin his journey of freedom and love! Blue is sweet, goofy, loves his toys, and is friendly to all. He'd make a great family dog, loving the little dog savvy humans too. Blue will be great as a play buddy with another dog, he needs a companion. He is crate trained and eats in his crate, as he's food aggressive with other dogs, though fine with humans. This beautiful boy is housebroken, up to date on shots, and heartworm negative. He still has puppy chewing behaviors and could use some continued training, but he does know basic commands. He isn't great with cats..he will chase and play rough. Blue will hypnotize you with his mournful eyes! Adopt beautiful Blue and he will be sure to take you to his bluey moments! Blue Update! Blue is getting much better with his food aggression. He is still very wary of other dogs being around his food. This is pretty common in dogs who have been starved and who had to protect their food. Every day is just a little bit better. He is also slowly becoming friends with the cat. Blue appears to have some skin allergies which we are working on getting under control. It's hard to say exactly at this point, but he's an itchy one! However, he loves getting bath's, so giving him a medicated bath is pretty easy. We will probably be doing some allergy testing and hopefully will have some more definate answers soon. Other than that, he is totally healthy. His blood work is normal, his poop is all good and he eats like a horse! He loves everyone he meets and loves kids. He needs kids who are dog savvy because he's a little mouthy when he plays. My kids, who are 6 and 8, know exactly what to do when he plays too rough and Blue immedietely knows if he's done wrong. He's a seriously sweet dog who handles the utter and total chaos of his foster home with ease! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.
