That’s no shrimp – it’s Crawfish! This handsome dog is a fun, mellow gentleman who can’t wait to meet you! He captures everyone’s heart with his large-yet-laidback personality and his love of playing with both people and other dogs. Crawfish had a scary start in life, and he was living with many other dogs in a suspected cruelty situation. He has since graduated from the Behavioral Rehabilitation Center, and he is eager to find a family of his own! Big fan of: People and other dogs! Crawfish loves hanging out with his canine friends, responding to their requests for a game of chase in a fenced-in yard. He’ll then take his time to explore and sniff around. He also enjoys getting attention with his favorite human friends. Spending time outside, going for walks and a nibble of cheese are the fastest ways to his heart! Crawfish is very motivated by tasty treats, so working on his training is that much easier. He has learned cues like “let’s go,” and “come here,” and he’s eager to pick up new things with you! Working on: His confidence with new people and places. Crawfish can be a bit shy when meeting someone new and walking to places he hasn’t been before, so he may initially be anxious when moving into a new home. The key to his success will be to help him feel safe, happy and loved, especially in the first few weeks! Here at the BRC, Crawfish has formed many friendships among our staff, and he will ask them for play, pets and affection. He has also been helped a lot by other dogs who are confident and social – now he is the one who helps socialize many of our new arrivals! Dream home: One with another confident, social and playful dog! Crawfish would love to have a canine sibling who he can learn from and help him get to know his new family. He’d also be thrilled to have a fenced-in yard, where he would have the freedom to explore and play off-leash. Crawfish is looking for a dedicated, patient adopter who will give him the time he needs to settle into their home and start forming loving bonds with the new people in his life.
