Izzy-at-a-glance: 3 old, female, spayed, Canaan Dog, 52 lbs., up-to-date on core vaccines, microchipped and heartworm negative. Izzy takes monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Meet Izzy, a 3-year-old Canaan Dog with a heart of gold. This sweet girl was rescued from a shelter in Israel and is now looking for her forever home. Izzy may be a bit shy at first, but with patience and love, she will blossom into a loyal and affectionate companion. Izzy has a fear of strangers that can manifest as territorial reactivity, but with the help of a behavioral vet and medication, she is making progress. Once she trusts her people, Izzy is a belly rub fanatic and will happily flop over for some love and attention. Her fang tooth even makes an appearance when she's feeling especially happy! This beautiful girl loves to play with other dogs and would thrive in a quiet or rural environment with experienced and patient owners. She enjoys spending time outdoors, running around with her furry friends, and then lounging in the sun with a bone in tow. Izzy's ideal day includes plenty of playtime followed by cuddles by the fireplace with her family. She is house-trained, crate trained, and ready to find a loving home where she can continue to grow and thrive.
