A SWEET, ACTIVE & FUN PUPPY: Approx. 3 months old / Approx. 15 lbs. and growingHi, I’m Kelley! Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I am now having a great time in a wonderful foster home. My puppy antics bring lots of smiles to my foster family, and I can’t wait for the fun and good life that awaits me in my new home! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I get along great with the 3-year-old dog in my foster home. I enjoy their companionship, and my foster feels that I will thrive best in a home that has another active dog to play with, so - if you have a nice doggie at home who is looking for a playmate, let’s meet! I give the impression that I would like to be the ‘alpha dog’, but my large doggie friend (who is very docile) lets me know I’m not – oh well. / I want to be friends with the cat in my foster home, but – they don’t seem to feel the same. Maybe it is my playful barking that turns them off? If you have a dog-friendly kitty, let’s meet and see if we can be pals. / I met kids around 10 years old at the shelter and liked them and there’s a teenager in my foster home that I love playing with, too! Just remember that I’m in the mouthy stage of puppyhood, so best no toddlers or very young kids that I may bump over and nibble on, and of course let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I have blossomed into a very confident puppy and my foster describes me as ‘a happy, playful, bubbly, confident, and sassy girl’. I think I’ll do great with a good leader in my new home. I’m busy and, in typical puppy fashion, will find things to put in my mouth, so know that you’ll need to puppy proof our home. / My energy level is 6 - 8 with an occasional ‘puppy energy burst’ that registers a 10, which is typical of a lot of puppies. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: My foster says that I’m a very teachable puppy who responds to a firm ‘no’ when I jump on her. I’ve learned that when I ‘sit’, I get petted and when I’m jumpy I don’t. I’m looking for a family that will teach me everything I need to know to grow up and become a wonderful adult dog - so get ready for some training with your new best friend. / In my foster home, I hate being in the crate and bark loudly when I’m in it. Condo or apartment living, therefore, would not be a good fit for me. / I’m a puppy, so I will need you to potty train me. I am somewhat successful with using potty pads indoors and I’m at the very beginning of my outside potty training now. I also want my foster to come outside with me when I go. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love toys I can chew on, and ... I love to chew - on ANYTHING because I’m a puppy. Nyla bones have been the ticket for keeping me from chewing on the rug in my foster home, so have those handy! I’ll even find rocks in the yard and try to sneak them inside so I can chew on them there, but please don’t let me do that. I love attention and all the petting that comes with it. When I’m tired, I’ll sit quietly on my foster’s lap, and she pets me until I fall asleep. Then it is time for a game of tug of war! / I don’t like to share my food with other dogs or have them around me when I eat, so my foster feeds me separately from the dog in the home. I also don’t like to be alone, so a doggie friend and family that is home a good bit would be a great fit for me. Otherwise, I can’t think of things I don’t like since I’m so young, but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.• MEDICAL: I've started my puppy shots, but you will have to finish these for me as I grow.
