If you're searching for the most devoted and loving best friend ever....Mango is the puppy you want to have around! Mango, at just 2 months old and 9 lbs is just naturally a lover... and when he looks at you with those dark, expressive eyes and sweet smile, your heart just has to melt. Mango is a beautiful and sweet as can be Schnauzer / Yellow Labrador Retriever mix with all the traits that make these super- smart and personality-plus dogs very popular and beloved breed mixes. Mango's mom is a 40lb Schnauzer / Bearded Collie mix. Farfel's received a plea from Rescued Pets Movement in Houston to save the life of Mango's mom and her 2 week old puppies. All were scheduled for euthanasia due to a lack of space. They described the mom and entire litter as healthy, wonderful and just about perfect in their temperaments and sweet personalities. We were thrilled to accept both mom and her 9 adorable puppies into Farfel's Rescue. Mango's foster mom had the following to brag about this sweet guy: "Mango is the whole package Gerber baby puppy. He is so relaxed and loving and just wants to be someone's best friend. We see Mango flourishing with kids of any age due to his lovely personality. Mango has the sweetest face and floppy ears that never fail to warm your heart." The irresistible Mango is a cuddler and snuggler all the way! He loves to to be close on the couch for TV watching, belly rubs or just hanging out with his foster mom is just about perfect for this sweet best friend. An occasional kiss from Mango is inevitable. He's a sensitive and very kind puppy who derives so much joy from his time spent with his favorite people and his doggy friends. Mango will have so much fun exploring, and taking long walks and hikes along Colorado's gorgeous paths and trails. Hiking and socializing with others is right down this friendly and active guy's alley. Mango is always open to new activities with a never-ending positive attitude. He's a joy to be with and filled with nothing but pure love! Farfel's would love to see our sweet Mango in a home with a family (older kids preferred so there's no tail-pulling or awkward handling) or active retirees who have the time and love for a very loving and sweet puppy. We'd hate to see this social guy left alone all day while his family works full-time outside of the home. He seems too sensitive for that type of arrangement. Mango's Texas rescuer shared the following with us: There's lots of tail wagging whenever Mango is around. He's such a happy and positive guy...his joy is contagious and wonderful! Mango loves backyard exploring! He's a curious and joyful puppy who shares his pleasure with all who are present. He's wonderful with his mom and littermates and will enjoy another dog's company in his forever home.I can say without reservation that Mango will be an excellent companion and best friend for a dog-loving family. Farfel's would like to see Mango in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and tons of loving hugs. A positive reinforcement training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young guy whose self-esteem will fly high while he masters his skills. Training is so important to the future behaviors of every dog that we're unwilling to adopt Mango out to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area. Mango's coat will require a lifelong commitment to periodic baths/brushing and excellent nutrition (5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are great lifelong protocols for coat care and general health) to keep his gorgeous coat cottony-soft, shining and very healthy. Mango has been fully vetted and vaccinated to be in line with Farfel's commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. Current research is very clear that neutering prior to 9 - 12 months old is not recommended for the health of the dog. Farfel's is happy to cover all costs at that time for Mango's neuter / microchip if one of our rescue vets is used. Applications are currently being accepted for this very sweet and loving puppy.
