Oscar and Frankie are a bonded pair of short haired dachshunds. Oscar is 10 years old and 20lbs. Frankie is around 5 years old and 13lbs. These two sweeties are looking for a new home where they can be together (and continue their weight loss journeys) after being surrendered by an owner who couldn’t give them the attention and time they need. Both boys are very sweet and affectionate—Oscar even more than Frankie! They love to snuggle with each other and go on walks. Environment Oscar and Frankie are house and crate trained, but will need to be let out on a pretty regular schedule. Frankie is very quiet, no barks yet. He is timid in his new environment. Oscar is the barker and is more affectionate. He even pushes Frankie out of the way to get more pets! They’ll be fine in a home with shared walls, and they don’t need a fenced yard as much as they need a lot of walks. They both are great leash walkers, but they are reactive to other dogs on walks. They have an extremely high prey drive and should never be let off leash. If they do have a yard, the fence will need to be dig-proof because Oscar is a true escape artist. Pets & People Both Oscar and Frankie are said to be fine with other dogs, they are newly landed so we’ll update as we know more info on this. So far, they’ve been fine with all people, and used to live with a toddler. They are great eaters and sleepers and snugglers who would likely fit well into any active household. Health Oscar will benefit from some senior supplements. Location Oscar and Frankie are available for adoption from Saugus, MA and quite anxious in the car so we are hoping to place them within a smaller radius.
