Rufus is pretty much irresistible. He's got the classic tan eyebrows so many black-and-tan dogs have, soft floppy ears, and his whole butt wiggles when he wags his tail - and he wags his tail a lot. This happy boy may be around five years old, but he isn't slowing down. He loves to go, go, go, so he'd definitely thrive in a home where he'll get lots of looong walks. Do you hike or jog? Even better. We recommend walking him on a harness to, well, harness all that energy and keep him from setting the pace. Rufus loves people and loves treats, which will make him a fun dog to train. Stock up on tasty snacks and get ready to bond with your boy while teaching him to be a good canine citizen. You might even move on to fun sports like agility or rally. Since he loves everyone, we think Rufus could be a good family dog. We recommend any children in the home be at least six years old, and we'd like to introduce everyone to him here at the shelter before you adopt. We don't know what he thinks of other dogs, so if you already have a dog or several, we'll introduce them here, too, to be sure everyone starts off on the right paw. Got cats? No worries. Your counselor can talk to you about how to introduce them at home to promote inter-species harmony.
