We got Sammy from the shelter so he wouldn't be euthanized. The plan was never to keep him but to find a better new home for him. We have a cat and he hates cats, we also have too many dogs for him and as an older dog, he likes to be left alone much of the time. He needs a home with playful dogs, no overly dominant dog because he doesn't submit. He needs an owner who will let him on furniture, let him stay outside as long as he wants, and buy him lots of toys. He's slow and has a hard time getting up sometimes, but he's a joyful dog. You can tell he's happy to be out of the shelter. He's cheeky and happy and loving. Whoever gets him will NEED to make sure he's kept up on his proheart as he is currently HW+. The heartworms should eventually die off as he has been through his course of medicine, but he needs the proheart to make sure he outlives the heartworms.
