Severus recently went on a Dog Day Out and here's what his DDO buddy had to say! "Meet Severus!! Labrador, Retriever2yrs OldNeutered Male47lbsHeartworm Negative Severus and I had a short day out yesterday and his sweet demeanor could steal your heart. Here are some key points about him that might make you fall in love even more! - Absolutely amazing in the car. Laid down almost the entire time, and would poke his head in the front every once in a while. - He is a toy lover but seems to get bored of one very quickly, so he needs options to alternate between. Most interested in strong stuffed toys. Minor interest in bully sticks and tough tennis balls. - Walks fairly well on a leash. Not quite a loose leash walker, but I wouldn't say he is a constant puller either. He falls somewhere in between. - He is very gentle when taking treats. He is a smart boy who knows sit, shake, and down. - Appears to be housetrained. - Has a good amount of energy and probably needs a home where he can run endlessly." 2nd DDO:"This is Severus! He's a 2 year old retriever/lab mix who weighs around 45 pounds. I took him out for a Dog's Day Out, and he was such a sweet and loving boy!- Awesome in the car!! Hopped right in and got comfy, and I didn't hear a peep out of him the whole time. - Easy on leash and listens so well.- Loved playing off-leash at a private dog park. He was interested in toys, especially squeaky ones, and will also play fetch, but was most interested in just wandering around, sniffing, and lying in the grass. I know he would love a big yard of his own!- Was great getting a bath at the pet store, greeted another dog with smiles and tail wagging, and sniffed all of the toys like a gentleman. - Enjoys treats, and knows "sit " As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines. To meet your future pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!
