Archer is a one-year-old, 50-pound lab turned into a shelter because he was sick and not eating, and the owner couldn’t afford the vetting. We took him, and he spent a few weeks at our vet. His kidney values were out of whack, and we suspected Leptospirosis, but the test came back negative. We finally got him eating at the foster home, and his blood work improved with every test. He must have gotten into something toxic but caught it in time. He initially needed some daily fluids and required a foster that could do that. Thanks to a fellow rescue, Rescue Me Georgia, we were able to use one of their fosters. Archer has been perfect at the foster home. Great in the house and great with all the other dogs, big and small. He is ready to go to a forever home, and we will continue to monitor him to make sure we get him completely healthy again.
