Beagle Mix Dog for Adoption in Washington, District of Columbia, 20002 USNickname: Quinn Posted Breed: Beagle / Hound / Mixed (short coat). Please contact Diane Pedulla (dianepluckydoganimalrescue) for more information about this pet. sweet boy ISO fresh start and love! QUINN NEEDS A FOSTER OR A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Quinn Best Guess for Breed: Beagle and hound mix Best Guess for Age: 4 years as of March 2024 SEX: Male Approximate Weight: 20 lbs Gets Along With: He has lived with young kids and did well with one that was dog savvy. He might chase a cat, but a dog savvy cat might be OK. Currently Living at: DC area boarding partner -- needs a foster or forever home!! Check out this video of Quinn: youtu.be/7r9XgReX8rU. Special adoption considerations: Quinn is shy and needs to go to a home with a welcoming resident dog to show him the ropes. We would be cautious placing him in a home with children under 12 years old because young kids can often scare shy dogs with their level of energy or noise. Children would need to be supervised closely to not leave doors open and should never walk the dog without an adult holding the leash. We would be happy to discuss this more in depth with any applicant. Quinn is Looking For: His forever family! This sweetie had a home and ended up in the shelter due to no fault of his own. He's looking forward to his new chapter, eagerly awaiting all the sniffy walks he will get with his new humans (that beagle nose!), romps in the park, and all the adventures they can dream up. He's well out of the puppy yips But is still a very active boy who will need daily running or playtime with other dogs. Quinn likes having someone around most of the time. Dude, who has breeds tendency to be vocal, Quinn might not be the ideal apartment dog. At the top of Quinn‘s wish list is to be safe, loved and under his own roof. In exchange, he offers all the adoring gazes and happy tail wags he's stockpiling at the shelter - lots of laughs at his doggy antics - and loyal companionship for all his days. What do you say? Is Quinn the one for your home and your heart? What My Foster Says About Me: Quinn is a very sweet, playful, and energetic guy who loves gong for long sniffy walks. He is most comfortable with dogs his own size and is a bit fearful of strange men. Quinn is a smart dog who enjoys learning new things. Quinn has learned sit and stay; he is currently working on leave it and down. Foster update 6/04/2024: Quinn is a playful and affectionate pup. He is pretty shy and scared around new people and crowds. At home he takes some time to warm up, but once he trusts you he's very very sweet. He'll follow you around and sleep quietly while you work, or snuggle with you when you're on the couch. He's great with dogs and loves to chase and wrestle. He's responded well to crate training during the night and sleeps quietly. He's treat-motivated and smart, responsive to corrections and has good recall. He knows outside is the bathroom and hasn't had any accidents inside. Quinn does great in car rides; he goes to sleep and is not bothered at all. Because he's shy and scared in big crowds, he doesn't do well at adoption events. He will need a home with people who have the patience, time and love to continue his leash training and people socialization. Quinn has so much love to give, adopting him will be adding a great friend. Foster Update 813/2024: He’s nervous around people but has settled in well with my husband, other dog, and I. As he gets more comfortable you see his spunky side. He’s a ball of energy and has a lot of love to give. Quinn likes to snuggle as much as he enjoys playing and sniffing about. He likes to be close to people and hangs out under my desk with my dog as I work. He has a bit of an overbite which causes his lips to get stuck on his teeth occasionally which is absolutely adorable. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
