Bear Claw is an adorable 5-year old (perhaps a bit older) male Beagle who was brought to the HSOV on April 8, 2024 by the Washington County Ohio Dog Warden who had picked him up on Smith Hill Road (off State route 26) in Lawrence Township, Washington County Ohio). Unfortunately, Bear Claw was not wearing a collar, and he was not microchipped. He was most likely following his nose when he wandered too far from home. Bear Claw has a two-tone brown (dark chocolate and carmel)-and-white short smooth coat, rather short legs, a long tail, and a beautiful tan-and-white Beagle face with pale brown eyes, a milk chocolate nose, and extra-large floppy ears which frame his face. This little man was a pleasure to photograph when HSOV Kennel Tech Madison Lee accompanied him for outdoor photos on April 9th. Bear Claw has a sweet, affectionate personality and loved the attention which Madison bestowed upon him (and vice-versa) (Smile) Bear Claw weighs 25 lbs. He walks fairly well on a leash, and he was also quite happy to be carried in Madison's arms when his photo session was over. Bear Claw was a social butterfly when he met visitors in the lobby, and he was a real gentleman as he let all of his admirers pet him and stroke his huge ears. In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Bear Claw will be held for three days so that his family will have an opportunity to reclaim him with proof of ownership.If you have any questions or would like to adopt Bear Claw, please reach out to the adoption group directly.
