Heidi was released from a breeder in Minnesota. She has not experienced a lot...but is learning so very much every single day. She loves other dogs. Cats and young children are unknown. Another dog is a must with her and a fenced in yard is preferred. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training. Heidi is a sweet dog looking for her forever home! She is timid around people but is very curious. She will come to people when she feels ready, which is becoming more and more frequent every day! Once she gets to know you, Heidi will give you kisses to let you know that she cares about you. Her favorite time of day is mealtime- when you’re preparing her bowl, she will bark at you to let you know that she’s ready to eat! She gets very excited when she sees her food bowl. We are working on potty training and leash training. She doesn’t like to be kenneled by herself- she would prefer to be near people or other dogs in their kennels. Her foster has not noticed any destructive behavior, even with her toys. She is content to take a nap on the couch or at your feet. Heidi loves other dogs, and she will wait for her foster sister to come inside before she will come inside too. It’s as if she’s saying “Hey!! Don’t forget about my sister!!” Heidi would really benefit from having another dog in the home to make her feel comfortable. She came from a place with a lot of other dogs around, so she has grown up being around dogs of all ages. She does not play very rough with other dogs. Heidi has not been around cats or young children. However, she would likely be fine with both as she mostly keeps to herself. Sometimes, Heidi acts more like a cat than a dog! Children should understand that if she runs away from you, it’s not because she doesn’t like you- it’s because she’s a little shy and wants to come to you on her own terms. Heidi will come to people when they’re sitting on the couch and relaxing, but running, yelling, loud noises, etc will make her hesitant. When she gets really excited, she prances and struts around to show everyhow how beautiful she is! Heidi needs someone to show her that people aren’t so scary- could you be the person to do that?
