Story: Suzy was rescued from an overcrowded shelter in North Carolina. Suzy is a super sweetie that loves all people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. She knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with her humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Suzy is just looking for someone to be her new best furend and we know that she will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. As a puppy, Suzy will need an adopter who is committed to setting her up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising her both mentally and physically. SUZY’S PERFECT MATCH - Perfect Family: Suzy would do well with anyone who is ready and able to give her their time and attention. She has been around children and is happy to be around them and get pets from them! She is not necessarily aggressive with cats BUT she seems to think chasing them is a game, so she would be best in a home either without cats, or with an owner that is willing and prepared to train her to behave appropriately with cats in the home. Behavior In Home: Suzy is a sweet and gentle girl. At first meeting, she has a shy and reserved demeanor, atypical of most high-energy puppies her age, but once she warms up to you, get ready for love, play, and cuddles! She loves to follow her humans around and be close to them, and always greets them with tail wags and kisses. Although she is a bit shy by nature, she likes meeting new humans, including young children. She takes just a bit longer to get comfortable around other dogs (not aggressive or protective, just cautious and shy), looking to her humans for direction, but once she finds her confidence, she is ready to play. Her energy is perfectly balanced—she loves playtime but knows when it’s time to settle down for a nap with her humans. She is a big napper so she is perfectly happy to snuggle up on a pile of blankets or on her bed and doze off. Suzy is a quick learner and doing very well with house training—she has had a few small accidents but mostly out of excitement and she finished the rest of her business outside. Crate: She is still getting used to her crate—she is okay as long as her humans are within eyesight, but once they leave the room, she usually starts crying. She eventually settles herself down and takes a nap, and is getting better, but still a work in progress which is typical of puppies her age.
