Nellie, Labrador Retriever For Adoption In Seneca, South Carolina
Location:
Seneca, SC
Description:
Nellie is a super sweet dog who has had lots of obedience training and knows lots of commands! She knows sit, down, shake, place ("break" to leave her place), heel, and drop it. She is housetrained. She loves to run, swim, hike, and play but also loves her snuggles. She is an awesome dog who happens to have some anxiety around other dogs that can show up as aggression, so she needs to be an only pet in the household (she's been fine with us walking her near other dogs on a leash - we just don't let her actually approach them as a precaution). She's never shown any human aggression but since she is nervous around new people/situations, we recommend no young kids/toddlers in her new home. She does take a daily anxiety medication that we just started for her to help her adjust to being in boarding and to a new home. She may be able to transition off this medication once she is used to her new home. It is not expensive, so don't let the meds be a reason to not consider this adorable and very smart girl as part of your family!Adoption processTo adopt a pet from CARE, contact us and give us the information for our adoption application. This can be via phone or by going to our website, downloading the adoption application, and filling it out and emailing it to us. Our email is XXXX@gmail.com Once we receive your application, we will contact your vet references and review the application to approve you. This can usually be done on the same day you apply. Sending in the application does not obligate you to adopt. You may meet our onsite pets prior to filling out the application if you prefer. For off site pets, we do request an approved application before scheduling a meeting. To adopt after being approved, you simply pay the adoption fee and take your new family member home! You may adopt over the phone and then schedule to travel to meet your new pet. Adopting over the phone does require paying the adoption fee which is non-refundable if you change your mind about adopting. Adoption fees vary depending on which pet you are interested in. These are often listed on the pet's profile but if not, feel free to email or call to ask. We are available for phone calls weekdays 8a-5p and Saturdays 8a-Noon. You will reach the receptionist for Crossroads Animal Hospital which is the vet hospital who founded CARE. After working hours, we can be reached via email which is usually checked daily but may take up to 48 hours for a reply.Shelter locationCome to 8409 W. Oak Hwy, Seneca, SC anytime during business hours to meet our on-site pets. Our on-site pets are primarily puppies in the 4-6 month range and all ages of kittens and cats. To meet a pet in a foster home (this includes most young puppies as well as most adult dogs and all the horses), call or email to schedule a time. We will arrange to have the dogs/puppies brought to the clinic for you to meet or arrange for you to go to the foster home where the horse is staying. We periodically have adoption events where we take some of our adoptable pets.
