Hello! My name is River, and I am an energetic, curious 1-year-old greyhound/pitbull mix looking for an adventurous family of my own. I seem shy at first, but Im actually just a bit insecure. I need an active, patient family willing to help me learn about the world Im so anxious to explore. I am crate trained, and Id do best in a house with a yard. I would really love another dog to play with and maybe one who is confident and calm to help me understand the world is a place I can trust. I am extremely smart and eager to please. I love affection and snuggling with humans is one of my favorite things to do!When I get nervous, I get territorial and I have been a bit nippy, but mostly just warning strangers that they need to keep their distance. I really need training to overcome my fear, and Ive been making great progress in classes lately. I love kids, and I get along with cats, although some of them find me a bit too playful. I love going places, especially outdoors, and learning new things with dogs and humans that I trust.If youre looking for an adventure buddy who is willing to help me get over my insecurities, I will enrich your life with love and joy in many ways. Dogs are not placed on a first come first serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal.
