Sadie is a beautiful 8-9 year old female German Shepherd who was surrendered by her owner on June 21, 2024. Sadie had been in the family's home for the past six years, so we know how difficult it was to part with her. Sadie had an unfortunate encounter with the neighbor's baby emus which didn't end well for them, so Sadie was no longer able to live in the neighborhood. Sadie has a black/brown/tan medium-haired coat, a long fluffy tail, and a lovely German Shepherd face with soft brown eyes, a long slender muzzle, and large erect ears. Her family told us that Sadie was good with other dogs and that she is great with children and was frequently visited with youngsters who were 5+ years old. Sadie is NOT good with cats (and most likely other small critters/farm animals). Sadie is housebroken and crate-trained (she spent her nights confined to an indoor crate). She knows some basic commands including 'sit' and 'shake paws'. Sadie will lay down when she is frightened. Sadie weighs 61 lbs. These photos of Sadie were taken on June 21, 2024 in her air-conditioned shelter kennel since the outside temperatures were in the 95-degree range that day. We look forward to taking outdoor 'glamour pictures' of this sweet girl when Mother Nature cools down a bit. Sadie has already been spayed, so she could leave our shelter immediately with an approved HSOV Foster or Adoption Application. NOTE: Sadie may look familiar to some of our long-time volunteers and facebook followers since she was actually adopted from HSOV in February 2018.
