Squeak, Dachshund For Adoption In Brookfield, Connecticut

Price:
$250
Location:
Brookfield, CT
Description:

Squeak is a 14 year old, 13 lb short-haired red dachshund. He came to Little Paws looking for a new home after being surrendered by an owner who no could no longer take care of him. His happy, laid back demeanor and sweet frosty face will fit right in with a lucky new family. Environment Squeak is house trained, outside of a couple of accidents while getting used to his new location. He hasn’t been crated in his foster home so we don’t know whether he is crate trained. Squeak loves to roam outside and lay in the sun or be a couch potato with his furry foster siblings. He would love it if his new home had some outdoor space so that he might suntan at his leisure. He’s also great on the leash and enjoys a walk. Squeak would be ok in a home with shared walls, since he’s not very vocal. He would be happy if his new people were home a lot but he’s well behaved when left alone wearing a belly band. Pets & People Squeak is such a happy guy with both people and dogs. His tail never stops wagging. He’s playful and adaptable with the pack—currently mini doxie seniors, but his previous owner said he was fine with big dogs too. He is very food motivated and not always great with boundaries so care should be taken if there’s a more guarded dog in the home. Squeak likes to greet visitors to get extra attention, and loves whomever it comes from, although he is untested with children. Health Squeak has a grade 4 heart murmur, cataracts, only a few teeth, and is hard of hearing. He has an umbilical hernia with no issues. Location Squeak is available for adoption from Falls Church, VA and has been fine in the car so a wider adoption radius will be considered. Please email XXXX@gmail.com with any questions or complete an adoption application at the button above. His adoption fee is $250. If you have already submitted an Adoption Application and it has been longer than 6 months, you will need to fill out a new Adoption Application. 2) Reference Checks - All references will be checked prior to home visit. We will contact your current vet, if you have one, for a reference. 3) Application Review - Processor reviews the application, calls the vet if you have one, verifies vaccinations and spay/neuter. We email personal references (if email is provided) or call them if necessary. Email is best since as references can respond when they are available. 4) Home Visit - A volunteer will come to your home to visit with you and discuss care of dachshunds. Also, the volunteer will look for any potential problems and check to be sure that your fencing is secure. Your home visit does not mean you have been approved. 5) Approval - After the above steps have been completed all your information will be reviewed and a decision will be made about adoption. If at this point you are approved to adopt, LPDR will help guide you to the appropriate dog for your family. 6) Contract - For the protection of the dogs we place, everyone that adopts a dachshund from LPDR will be required to sign an adoption contract.Shelter locationAre you looking for an opportunity to foster a dachshund? Fostering is our transitional step from a shelter/surrender to a forever home. During this time it’s important that we give each dachshund a safe environment where it can learn to trust again, to heal and to learn how to become a loving family member. Many of the dachshunds that we pull from shelters or receive from an owner surrender just need a temporary home until their new forever home can be found.
