Vada is an an exuberant and affectionate 2 year old, 10 lb terrier mix. She is a friendly, snuggly, happy pup who loves everyone she meets and loves to give kisses! She has adjusted very well during her time in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Peach enjoys making new human friends, sofa lounging with wooing eyes that long for belly rubs, exploring community gardens, and making friends with humans that offer ear scratches. She is learning “sit” and working on other obedience training. During her time with her foster family, she is housetrained to go both outside and use wee pads. (Due to a bladder stone when she arrived she had some pee accidents, and but the stone was removed with surgery. Vada requires a prescription diet to prevent more stones from forming. ) Vada curiously on a leash and is still learning to walk without zig zags. She is smart and making fast improvement with positive reinforcement. She happily meets anyone who wants to give her some ear scratches, and is friendly towards or ignores other dogs large and small. Her forever family will need to continue working with Vada to reinforce and advance the progress she's been making in leash walking. Vada is crate trained and may cry for a few minutes, but then chill out when left. When given free range of the apartment she is not destructive and gets along amicably with her Chihuahua foster siblings. Vada is looking for medium energy family home. We haven't tested her with children, but think that she would be fine; She'd be a great go-to-work dog and would be fine as a solo dog or with another pup in the household. Vaccinated for DA2PP, rabies, and bordetella. Microchipped and heartworm negative. Spayed. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. You may also pay by check (payable to Waggytail Rescue), however processing of adoptions may be delayed by up to 2 weeks. If your new buddy is not yet neutered, a $100 refundable deposit must be paid at adoption.
