Tahlulah Bio Tahlulah is a nine-year-old, dapple weenie who weighs 14 lbs. She is sweet, lovable, and rambunctious. She came to Little Paws with IVDD and has now got new wheels and a new lease of life! She’s looking for a home with someone who understands her needs, and without men or children. Environment Tahlulah can’t be house trained because of her advanced IVDD—she has no use of her hind legs and will need to be expressed. Despite her disability, she is a very active and playful girl! She would love a fenced yard to race around in, chase squirrels, and stay safe doing it. Tahlulah would be a flight risk without a fence. She can be very chatty too—as in, she will bark at her own shadow—so a house without shared walls is necessary for this sweet girl. Pets & People Tahlulah really loves her person but she’s not a fan of men or children. Her home will need to be a sanctuary in terms of visitors. She does get along well with other dogs though, and would love some playmates! She is equal parts rambunctious and sweet, and follows her person everywhere. Health Tahlulah needs to be expressed and she eats prescription Science Diet CD Kidney food, but otherwise does her best to live a full, vibrant life. If you have already submitted an Adoption Application and it has been longer than 6 months, you will need to fill out a new Adoption Application. 2) Reference Checks - All references will be checked prior to home visit. We will contact your current vet, if you have one, for a reference. 3) Application Review - Processor reviews the application, calls the vet if you have one, verifies vaccinations and spay/neuter. We email personal references (if email is provided) or call them if necessary. Email is best since as references can respond when they are available. 4) Home Visit - A volunteer will come to your home to visit with you and discuss care of dachshunds. Also, the volunteer will look for any potential problems and check to be sure that your fencing is secure. Your home visit does not mean you have been approved. 5) Approval - After the above steps have been completed all your information will be reviewed and a decision will be made about adoption. If at this point you are approved to adopt, LPDR will help guide you to the appropriate dog for your family. 6) Contract - For the protection of the dogs we place, everyone that adopts a dachshund from LPDR will be required to sign an adoption contract.Shelter locationAre you looking for an opportunity to foster a dachshund?
