Adopt Tuffy a Shih Tzu dog in Cincinnati, OH (40704838)
Location:
Cincinnati, OH
Description:
Introducing Tuffy, a 13 pound, 4-year-old male ShihTzu. Tuffy is a puppy mill rescue, where he spent his first 4 years in a mating crate. Now it's Tuffy's turn to start a fresh new life being loved and pampered. His foster family refers to him as Little Man. He is fostered with 6 other dogs and fits in very well in his pack. He would enjoy his own doggy brother or sister. Tuffy is outgoing and not shy as some mill dogs are. He loves spending time outdoors where he can wander in his fenced in yard to his heart's content. Tuffy is also crate trained but prefers to spend time in family big dog bolster bed. However, he does go into his covered crate at night. Tuffy likes watching television and will often come and sit next to you for cuddles when he wants to. Shihtzus are as independent, as they are playful and intelligent. He does enjoy meeting new people, big and little. It's best when company comes in and stands still to allow Tuffy to come to you, sniff and lick! Tuffy has the basics of housebreaking down, but he has trouble some mornings emptying his whole bladder because he is so excited to get back in and eat breakfast. His food is put in a slow-feed bowl, to slow him down. His foster does utilize a belly band to make his little accidents very manageable. Potential adopter has to remember he was kept in a crate his first four years. Tuffy does have a "dry eye condition. The little man needs drops in his eyes twice a day, and this will be an easy lifetime commitment to stay healthy. Sometimes he can get snarly with the drops, but he forgets about it quickly, and goes back to his happy self. If he gets growly, it's only because he is telling you he is uncomfortable. Tuffy is a great and manageable size. Please apply if you would enjoy some love and laughs. Tuffy is being fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is $450.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
